Welcome to the start of a new year!  I hope that you had a restful and rejuvenating holiday season and that you're ready to kick off the new year with some new and exciting classes.

As the winter weather sets in and the days start to get a little shorter, it can be easy to feel a bit down or disconnected from the world around us. That's why we're excited to offer a range of classes that are designed to lift your spirits, inspire creativity, and help you connect with others.

 

One class that we're particularly excited about is our "Finding Your Inner Artist" course. This class is designed for people who have always wanted to tap into their creative side but haven't quite found the right outlet. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, this class is designed to help you find your voice and develop your skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Create Your Own Zine

January 9th- February 6th

In this class, students will learn how to create their own zine (short for magazine or fanzine), a self-published booklet that can be used to express creativity, share ideas, or showcase personal interests. Through a series of lessons and hands-on activities, students will explore the history and culture of zines, learn different techniques and formats for creating zines, and develop their own unique zine concepts.

Students will have the opportunity to experiment with different materials and styles, such as collages, comics, poetry, or photography, and will receive guidance and support from the instructor throughout the process. The class will culminate in a final project where students will create their own zine and have the option to share it with their classmates or participate in a small zine fair.

This class is open to all levels and no prior experience is required. All materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own materials if they wish. Join us and discover the fun and creativity of zine-making!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Young Einstein's Creativity Class

January 13th- February 17th 

A  Friday Afterschool  Class 

 Ages: 11-14 

 

 

The Young Einstein's Creativity Class is a 6-week program for children ages 11-14 to tap into their creativity and have fun in a safe and nurturing environment. The class takes place after school on Fridays from 3:00 pm -5:30 pm. Drop off as early as 2:30 

The kids will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of art and craft activities, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and more. I will guide children through different projects and techniques, helping them to develop their skills and confidence in their creative abilities.

In addition to the art activities, children will also have the opportunity to participate in games, and other fun and engaging activities. 

The Young Einstein's Creativity Class is a great way for children to have fun, make new friends, and express themselves through art. It is a perfect opportunity for parents to have a few hours to themselves while their children are engaged in a fun and enriching activity.

 

This is like our summer camps only broken down into bite-sized classes!

The "Young Einstein's Creativity Class" is a 6-week program for children ages 6-10 to tap into their creativity and have fun in a safe and nurturing environment. The class takes place on Saturday mornings from 10 am-12:30 pm.

In this class, we will explore the world of art journaling as a means of self-expression, creativity, and mindfulness. Art journaling is a form of mixed media art that combines writing, drawing, collaging, and other creative techniques to create a visual and written record of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Each week, we will focus on a different theme or technique to inspire and guide your art journaling practice. You will have the opportunity to try out a variety of media, including paints, pens, pencils, collage materials, and more.

We will start by discussing the basics of art journaling and how to set up your own art journal. From there, we will dive into techniques such as doodling, mixed media collage, and lettering. We will also explore different approaches to art journaling, such as using prompts and themes, working with positive affirmations, and incorporating mindfulness and self-care into your practice.

Throughout the class, we will share tips and techniques for creating meaningful and expressive art journal pages, as well as examples of work from a variety of artists. There will also be plenty of time for you to work on your own art journal pages and share your progress with the group.

In this class, we will be making a 4-inch Harry Potter-style sorting hat out of Apoxy Sculpt epoxy clay.

Over the course of the three classes, we will cover a variety of techniques for sculpting and painting with epoxy clay. You will learn how to shape the clay, create details and textures, and use different painting techniques to bring your sorting hat to life.

We will start by discussing the basics of working with epoxy clay, including how to condition and manipulate the clay to achieve the desired shape and form. From there, we will delve into more advanced techniques, such as using tools to create intricate details and using paint to add color and depth to your creation.

By the end of the course, you will have a completed sorting hat that you can proudly display in your home or give as a gift to a Harry Potter fan. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience with sculpting and painting, this class is suitable for all skill levels.

Over the next five weeks, we will be creating a Harry Potter-themed faux stained glass castle painting. This class is suitable for all skill levels, so whether you are a beginner or an experienced painter, you will find something to learn and enjoy. 

In the first week, we will start by discussing the basics of mixed-media painting and the materials you will need for this class. We will also go over some basic techniques for creating a faux stained glass effect. During the second and third weeks, we will focus on sketching and preparing our canvas for the final painting. This will involve sketching out the basic shape of the castle and adding in some details to help guide our painting process. In the fourth week, we will begin adding various colors and details to our painting. We will use a variety of media, including paints, markers, and colored pencils, to create the final piece.

Finally, in the fifth week, we will finish up our paintings and review the various techniques we learned throughout the class. We will also discuss ways to display and care for your finished artwork.

Apoxy Sculpt Clay Distressed 12 in Robot

In this class, you will learn how to sculpt a 12 inch robot figurine using clay and other sculpting materials. You will also learn how to distress paint your sculpted robot to give it a unique and weathered look.

Throughout the course, you will receive step-by-step instructions from an experienced instructor on how to create your own robot sculpture from start to finish. You will learn about the different tools and techniques used in sculpting, such as shaping, texturing, and smoothing. You will also learn how to apply various distress painting techniques to give your robot a realistic and aged appearance.

In addition to hands-on instruction, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive feedback from the instructor and other students in the class. By the end of the course, you will have created your own unique robot sculpture and developed the skills to continue exploring your interest in sculpture and distress painting. Intro to Inking is a five-week class designed for artists of all levels who are interested in learning the fundamentals of inking. This class will cover the basic tools and techniques of inking, including brushwork, penwork, and ink washes. Students will learn how to ink both traditional and digital media and will have the opportunity to practice these skills through a variety of exercises and projects.  This camp is designed to help campers tap into their creativity and explore new ways of thinking and problem-solving. We will be offering a variety of activities and workshops that are designed to spark the imagination and inspire campers to think outside the box.

Throughout the week, campers will have the opportunity to participate in activities such as art and craft projects, music and drama performances, writing and storytelling workshops, and more. 

In addition to these structured activities, we will also have plenty of time for free exploration and play, giving campers the chance to follow their own interests and passions. We believe that creativity is best nurtured in a relaxed and supportive environment, and we will be fostering this atmosphere throughout the week.

"Date Night Drop Off" is an event designed for children to have fun and be creative while their parents enjoy a night out. This event is suitable for children aged 6-12 and will be held at a local community center or similar venue.

Upon arrival, children will be greeted by our team of energetic and experienced staff members who will lead them in a variety of activities throughout the evening. The main focus of the event will be creating art and having fun with friends. Children will have the opportunity to work with a range of media, such as paint, clay, and more, and will be guided through various projects and art techniques by our staff.

In addition to the art activities, children will also be treated to a delicious pizza dinner and will have the opportunity to play games and participate in other fun activities.
